5/17: In pre-Ukraine war Russia, a Russian journalist was assassinated just after posting this: "Russia’s biggest problem, Politkovskaya wrote, was “the fact that most people think it will never happen to them”. Watching the film and looking back on those years, I suspect something similar applies to the West. Its leaders knew what Mr Putin was up to, but few saw, or wanted to see, that he would eventually convulse their worlds, too."
